Matter
becomes
gesture.

How our materials are designed, developed and shaped: from vision to texture.

“Between gesture and
form flows care. Between art and craft breathes intention. Biotate shapes materials into meaningful creations.

Our patterns begin in silence.
A gesture. A brush. A drop of water spreading across paper.

Each Biotate collection starts as a hand-made composition: layered, imperfect, alive.
We don’t design for reproduction, we design for resonance. Every movement, every wash of color carries an intention that is meant to be felt, not decoded.

When the balance is right, we begin the translation.

Texture becomes formula. Paper becomes slab.
And even then, we adjust gently, to preserve the echo of the original gesture.

Gesture phase: hand painting watercolor textures with a brush, showing the initial artistic step in Biotate’s design method
Matter phase: colored acetate granules placed into block molds by hand, demonstrating the material formation stage

Matter

Our material is developed in-house, from granules to slab

Form phase: finished acetate slab held against the sky, showing the final shaping and visual definition of the material

Form

The result: surfaces that carry the story of how they were made.

Gesture

Where every collection begins: with movement, rhythm and instinct.
